Theory: SPOILERS ahead: read at risk: So it was stated that Tingyun’s new 5 star form will have 4 tails, but why does it have 4 tails compared to Tingyun’s 4 star form: I believe that Tingyun has access to Moon Rage a trait that primarily comes with the Borisin but a small percentage of Foxians can access it, and Tingyun’s new form is her Moon Rage form. It could be a case of where Ruan Mei was interested in the Foxian’s and why a small percentage of them can access Moon Rage compared to their Borisin counterpart: hence is why Tingyun hasnt returned is because she is still recovering from the ordeal of her ship crashing and Ruan Mei’s… shady experiments but Tingyun probably agreed to it because she felt indebted to Ruan Mei for saving her. As for why Tingyun hasnt contacted the Xianzhou: I believe whenever she does try to contact them Phantylia immediately destroys any form of contact/disguises herself as Yukong or anyone else to ensure that no one is of the wiser.

I think shapeshifting in this case refers at something like werewolfs do, basically like a werewolf they shapeshift from a human form to a more wolflike form. So borisin were like raposians but they became more werewolf because of moonrage, what that means is that Feixiao is like a werewolf but like a werefox or a wolf-fox-human thing, whatever it is she has the ability of the borisins but without the healing factor needed to undergo that transformation, so when the time comes she will transform into a wolf or whatever she will die. I think Lingsha meant eating borisin meat or something like that when she refers to tasty food, maybe hoolay meat is needed since he is like an emanator of the abundance, his meat will be a way to heal that. Or maybe is like the stories of the werewolfs when you need to kill the werewolf that cursed you(Alfa werewolf) to get free of the curse. Maybe hoolay was the one that cursed Feixiao with that, plus it will be tasty because they want to kill hoolay for all the centuries of suffering he made her race suffer.Eiither killing him or eating him i think is the way to help her with her desease.

We find out that tingyun’s ship was attacked leaving no survivors. tingyun was likely possessed and tossed aside after phantlyia had enough memories to copy and Imitate her. This confirms tingyun didn’t make it back to the loufou. Also explains why “tingyun’s” body vanishes after phantylia leaves it. Cause it was just a imitation of the real tingyun. Now here’s what happens after the events on the loufou. yukong sends a search party to search for tingyung’s ship. The search party find tingyun’s ship and discover that Raun Mei already got there before them. This is a direct hint and foreshadow that raun mei has already brought tingyun back to life or will do it. Which explain why the leaked 5 star tingyun now has 4 tails and different colored hair. Cause raun mei experimented on her.

I believe the easy answer to the shapeshift thing is they're ALWAYS shapeshifted. We've heard how the Zhuming Foxians are similar in appearance to Borisin. With how Hoolay talks to Mok Tok, it might be they just stay shapeshifted. Seeing they call the "normal state" to "resemble our most despicable slaves and enemies". They take the werewolf form in order to have the advantage.

I have to correct you, Hoolay can shapeshift and so can all Borisin, as it’s an inherent trait connected to the moon rage. The prisoner relic set and “A martial arts novel that stopped updating 300 years ago” both talk about Hoolay’s fight with Jingliu. In it, he’s described to break and strengthen his bones as well as regrowing limbs before and during the fight - the shapeshifting merely turns them into beasts and strengthens their bodies, it’s not true shapeshifting. He can’t turn into a Foxian because he has no wish to reverse his moon rage (and since moon rage is mara, it would be tantamount to Jingliu’s divine revelation), he would only turn into more of a beast rather than shapeshift into a Foxian. Despite boss design reasons, this is also why he’s so large compared to other Borisin, because his moon rage is better (his blessing of abundance is stronger, he’s physically stronger, has better healing, etc). Moon Rage is indeed the Foxian/Borisin equivalent of mara, as you pointed out. The Borisin give in to this mara (moon rage) which is the source of their extreme healing and shapeshifting, just like mara-struck Xianzhou natives grow branches and fuse with their armor (turn into beasts with extra vitality). The Xianzhou natives have great healing normally, but it’s far less than the healing capabilities of the mara-struck, echoing the difference between Foxians and Borisin. Dan Shu has a nice explanation for this in the original 1.2 story quest: the only difference between the Foxians and the Borisin is their choice to succumb to mara (moon rage) or not. The difference between an abomination and Xianzhou native is one of choice and philosophy. The Foxians of the Yaoqing, occasionally being prone to moon rage, are also described to sometimes look similar to the Borisin. Why? Because they’re the closest to the Borisin in terms of generics, thus the most prone to being afflicted with (or using) moon rage (mara), so they’re sometimes more beast-like in appearance. If Feixiao gave in to moon rage she would just turn into a Borisin thanks to her genetic similarity to them. If you use Jingliu as a comparison, Jingliu was mara-struck but found a solution before she started mutating, so she got her sanity back. If Feixiao succumbs to moon rage in the story she’d need to turn into Jingliu 2.0 and find an antidote to the uncurable mara before she’s consumed, else she’d be on an irreversible path towards becoming Hoolay, but either way she’d be condemned by the Ten-Lords. I don’t see it happening.

No one could reach that side of the Nihility without Acheron's help either. -> Refuses to even acknowledge how he even managed to reach said dimension and just casually pits him with the other thirty or so people he rescued that day. -> He can see her (Idrila) trail and her hear voice when that has never been mentioned as an ability any other Knight of Beauty or Mirror Holder has and she's supposed to have shattered into thousands of mirror shards. So he might be an Emanator of Beauty

Dr. Calderon Chadwick's story was one of the many I cried on because it gave me more thoughts on how intelligence does not necessarily equate to it being a blessing. The fact that despite 2 Amber Eras passing and they (The IPC) still weren't able to take Chadwick's knowledge regarding the Imaginary Implosion Pulse just shows how much determination he had to prevent a monopoly of power occurring due to his discovery and knowledge. It shows a side of Dr. Oppenheimer's story that was never felt in real life; the fact that Chadwick, unlike Oppenheimer, was able to impart the decades of knowledge he had to the one he deemed was worthy (Herta).

Why is she dying? Because the plot demands it obviously. A hot foxian woman that doesn’t have some sort of baggage (Tingyun being phantylia in disguise when we met her and Yukong having trauma). A beautiful foxian woman cannot be in the game without baggage.

"We didn't see any borisin able to shapeshift" Shapesifting it's a wide term. You thinking about using it to disguise your self as another creature, but it not necessarily like this. It doesn't have to be any form or even controled. Most likely the have one stronger "superform" and thats it. The only one that can match Hoolay's healing is Blade. Blade is infused accidentally with the flesh and blood of Shuhu, an Emanator of Abundance. Does this mean that Hoolay is also an Emanator?

Jing Liu --> war with the abominations of abundance, high cloud quintet tragedy, mara affliction Acheron --> war against "demons", home world swallowed by black hole, fading humanity because self-annihilator Firefly --> Swarm disaster, disappearance of Glamoth's Iron Cavalry while frozen in stasis for thousands of years, Anthropy loss syndrome Feixiao --> enslavement and genocide of the foxians by the borisins, war against the abominations of abundance, moon rage affliction [insert strong female dps name] --> [Tragic past + some sort of curse or affliction] = big money for hoyo.
